Progress Wars

Thanks to Scott Jennings for this game.

I'm level 10. I really wish I'd had this during the days of 40 minute tactical lectures in Serpentshrine Cavern.

Incidentally Scott is writing about social games which we discussed yesterday. It's a good article.

  1. I clicked like ten times and didn't see any change. Maybe I need to allow scripts. Or maybe I'm the typical impatient ADD-addled player of these days. Or maybe I don't enjoy filling bars as much as I thought.

  2. I enjoyed Jennings' article yesterday. I found it nice relief from his usually egomaniacal writings.

  4. Actually, your comment about Serpentshrine Cavern makes me think it would be really interesting to create Progress Wars as an addon for WoW. I'm guessing we'd be seeing even more clicks than now.

  5. @ Kleps yeah it's probably a script. Allow it to run the program it's rather neat.

@Mot definitely a good contribution to the debate.

@ Logan thank Jakob, not me :-)

@ Jakob that would be awesome. I'm thinking the lfd group and dps players. I can see people starting a ladder and racing to level one million or whatever.

  6. I like it. I have been playing Progress Quest for the last two years (I am in one of the leading guilds on our server) but recently I have come to feel like I am just logging in out of habit. It feels like nothing I do in PQ makes an impact on the game. Progress Wars on the other hand seems fresh and new to me. I love the feeling that my actions directly affect my progress. I have recommended it to a few of my PQ guildies and I think they will come over and try it out. Any idea what the end game is like?

  7. Well I'm pretty sure you won't be required to buy perfume in the item shop to be competitive at end game.
