Doesn't that sound like ...Well, more D3 gangs. Doesn't that sound like <i> fun...</i><br /><br />Unlike you, I am beginning to feel terribly disappointed by the Command Node idea of FozzieSov. If encouraging more people into meaningless Kiting PvP is CCP's aim, then congratulations to them. The lack of 'skin in the fight' kiting gangs commit is already stupidly low. If they can project to that stupid level whilst still fitting a 10mn AB (otherwise known as the 'get out of PvP free card), I suspect that most people will simply give up on holding sov. CCP will no doubt mis-read this problem as being to do with Ishtars or Supercapitals or some other bugbear CCP has.<br /><br />Honestly, I think the concept of power creep has simply evaporated from CCP's collective memory. CCP needs to introduce <i> handicaps </i> for being in one mode verses another, and make the time to switch between nodes much longer. Yes, Modes are a interesting idea, but when a ship can radically rearrange itself over a short period of time, maybe it might suffer from drawbacks as well. A ship shouldn't be able to engage and disengage so freely, whilst remaining so tanky.<br /><br />To my mind: Sniper mode should have a significant speed and tank penalty, above and beyond the base line stats, and the same with the other 2 modes. A ship in sniper mode should be as fragile as a china vase, and as slow as a tortoise. <br /><br />I don't believe CCP will do this, because they love their shiny new ships too much to see how totally they have demolished the strengths of the rest of anything sub-cruiser. <br /><br />The problem of exposure and risk whilst kiting is something CCP will have to figure out, because my solution is so radical that even the Bolsheviks would be hesitant.<br /><br />(and wow, was this a bitter post or what?
